Fortune Cookie Says...

How appropriate for this week's events

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I will make the Inauguration tomorrow. It's been freezing cold here and as much as I want to take part in this historic moment, I have a very real fear of frostbite and hypothermia. We shall see.

btw, I love what Google has done today. I wonder what tomorrow's banner will bring?

Adidas House Party: the music

I'm sure most of you have seen this Adidas Originals house party commercial. Loves it; but what I love even more is the music. I found myself humming the featured song but had no idea who the artist was. (I actually suspected it was N.E.R.D. for a second.) So I did a little digging and the song is actually "Beggin'", originally performed by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, and remixed by Pilooski. Me likey

There are 30- and 60-second downloads available at the Adidas website. Check it out.

Now I just have one more question: Does anyone have any idea what Redman was doing around the 12-second mark? Just curious

Cute Vids

WATCH Dog
Magazines sold today: "0"

To Catch a Thief
My dog will take things out of your purse, but only if you leave it open or within reach. My grandmother caught him going into her purse several times on Christmas Day so she finally moved it. This dog takes the cake though…

“Let me show you how.”
Awww! I have a puggle too and they are that smart...and impatient. I'm sure the dog was screaming inside, "Look, kid. Just like this, see? Don't you get it? SEE? Do it! If you don't get it, he won't shut up! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!" I'm sure the baby knew what he was supposed to do though. Babies are much smarter than adults think.

“I Hate Bugs!!!”
I totally feel this dog’s pain.

I made a trip to Toys/Babies R Us this weekend to pick up a baby shower gift and wound up having a mini-meltdown in a mystery aisle because Babies R Us isn't quite as organized as Target's baby section and I was hopelessly lost with the registry. So I made a quick U-turn, picked up a gift certificate instead and wandered over to the toy side to find my friend - and to play with toys of course. I know I'm too old to want a remote-controlled car but I've been obsessed with them since I played with my little cousin's toys on Christmas Day. So I wandered over in search of the cars and got distracted by this toy. So there we were, two grown folks, playing with toys in the kiddie store. This one was by far the most amusing...until I realized that it doesn't stop screeching for a loooooong time. As much as I enjoyed the toy myself, if someone gave this to my kid, I would slap them silly.
It's probably wrong that we derived some sort of sick amusement from this, but whatever. I have to get my kicks somewhere.

says one reviewer:

"This is the cutest monkey I've ever seen. The sounds that it makes are precious. Could maybe get on a parents nerves a bit, but if you're a grandparent go for it!"

That's just wrong. :o)
