Artsy Fartsy Feeling

I recently revisited the soothing therapy of art in the form of collages. I used to do collages and art projects way back when and really got lost in them...lost in a very good way. It's almost like meditation for me. Then, I completely forgot about my little art projects until I came across an old collage in one of my many storage bins with college memorabilia. Anyway, I thought I'd share some of my work here. I'm still learning a lot about collage art - the proper materials to use, framing, etc., but it's fun nevertheless. The only thing I'm sure of so far is that I heart Mod Podge. I can't get enough of the stuff.

"-Ism:" This was the first collage I made during some downtime in college. I had a composition book and couldn’t stand the plain black & white cover so I cut up some magazines and got busy. Oddly, the first one is still my favorite so far.

I started this one for a friend but wasn’t sure it really suited her once I finished, so I kept it. It’s just sitting in my pile of completed collages for now.

I made this piece for a friend so it’s very personalized. I’m waiting for the custom frame to come in so I can finally put it in the mail. Ah framing, I have so much to learn about it. All I do know so far is that it can cost a pretty penny. (sorry if this is a little fuzzy. I have to get it rescanned.)

"Creator", Santogold
(Although I appreciate the artistic merit of this cover, I must admit it scares the hell out of me!)
