Artsy Fartsy Feeling
"-Ism:" This was the first collage I made during some downtime in college. I had a composition book and couldn’t stand the plain black & white cover so I cut up some magazines and got busy. Oddly, the first one is still my favorite so far.
I started this one for a friend but wasn’t sure it really suited her once I finished, so I kept it. It’s just sitting in my pile of completed collages for now.
I made this piece for a friend so it’s very personalized. I’m waiting for the custom frame to come in so I can finally put it in the mail. Ah framing, I have so much to learn about it. All I do know so far is that it can cost a pretty penny. (sorry if this is a little fuzzy. I have to get it rescanned.)

(Although I appreciate the artistic merit of this cover, I must admit it scares the hell out of me!)
2 had something to say:
Hey Tia--How have you been? Your collages are pretty cool. Have you ever heard of Romare Beardan? A famous African America artist and collage was his thing. I saw his exhibit a few years ago in DC--really good stuff!
Gatwiri! Where have YOU been? I'm fine.
Thanks! I have heard of Beardan, but I must confess I'm not familiar with his work. I will definitely pay more attention to his art now.
