This weekend, I had a chance to do something I haven't in quite a while - drive around the city alone on a sunny day listening to
WPFW and my iPod. Long sunny drives are always good for clearing my head, and people watching in the city is great for writing ideas.
I ventured out to pick up a gift for my sister and stopped by one of my favorite bookstores - the Barnes & Noble in
Georgetown. I could be wrong, but
I'm pretty sure they have one of the most extensive magazine stands in the area so I'm always like a kid in a candy store there. I had given up my magazine addiction for quite some time in the interest of my checkbook, but I'm working on nurturing my creative side, so I stocked up on design and graphic arts magazines. (Thank God for wonderful friends and fam who know my love of the bookstore well and shower me with gift cards because design magazines are pretty pricey!) The highlight of my day however, was the
Tokyo Look Book I stumbled across in
Urban Outfitters. It’s chock full of cutting-edge fashion from the streets of Tokyo and it has definitely made its way to my inspiration library wishlist.
